Arranging a funeral for someone you love

When someone you love dies, and you have to arrange the funeral for them, there’s so much to think about and so much to organise. We understand how difficult and exhausting this can be. We can help you to arrange a funeral that is genuinely personal and comforting.

We can conduct funerals in our church buildings, at a local crematorium or at a graveside. We conduct both burial services and cremation services. Supporting you and honouring the memory of the person who has died is our priority.

We will help you to plan the service, think through the readings and music you would like, and we can even help you to compose a eulogy if you would find that helpful.

If you are wanting to arrange a funeral, please contact the vicar, Revd Kalantha Brewis, or ask your Funeral Director to do so on your behalf. Please contact us for information about fees and we will be happy to advise you.

Making plans for your own funeral

Many people wish to make plans for their own funerals. It is often the case that where a loved one has made their own plans their families find this a great comfort when the time comes for the funeral. It means that the family know what your wishes are, and are able to be certain that they are carrying them out.

If you want to start making plans for your own funeral, but you don’t quite know where to begin, please contact the vicar who will be pleased to arrange a visit to discuss your wishes. These wishes can be recorded and kept by the vicar or shared with your family, as you choose.
