Education Sunday - One Faith, Many Generations

On Sunday 20th September, Hallow Church's usual Sunday service will have a rather special twist.

We have invited Hallow Primary School to come and join us—not simply to attend the service, but to help lead it.

For some of us, Sunday worship has a familiar and much-loved rhythm. There is great comfort in that familiarity. But every now and again, it is good to see our church, our worship and our Christian faith through younger eyes.

The children will be welcoming us as we arrive, some will have the exciting opportunity to visit the tower and see our bell ringers in action, and others will lead us in prayer. We will hear from members of the school about the Christian values at the heart of school life and how those values are shared with the children.

Most importantly, we will hear from the children themselves.

We’ll talk to them about Open the Book, about what they think when members of our church visit their school, and what the stories and messages they hear mean to them. It promises to give us a fascinating glimpse into how the seeds of faith we help to sow are being received by another generation.

And before all that, there will be breakfast!

From 9.30am, everyone is invited to come along for croissants, tea and coffee, with time to sit, chat and enjoy one another’s company before the service begins.

Education Sunday isn't about replacing the traditions we value. It is about celebrating them and discovering how they are being passed on. Church and school are two communities, but there is so much that connects us: friendship, service, kindness, hope and faith.

So, if you are one of our regular Sunday congregation, please come. Your presence matters. Come and encourage the children, meet the people who teach and care for them, and perhaps discover something new about the difference our church is already making in their lives.

And if you don't usually join us on a Sunday, this would be a wonderful Sunday to start.
